It’s a Feast for Funny Bones and Taste Buds at the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste A raucous band of 16th century pyrates has commandeered the Swashbuckler Brew Pub on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire for four evenings overflowing with robust ales, sweet wines, hearty foods and a plethora of pyratical shenanigans. Discover your inner pyrate April 5, 12, 18 & 19 at the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste. Get ready to be shanghaied and pressed into service on a voyage of gustatory plunder. As you enter the wharf-side Brew Pub, one of two salty mates inducts you into his crew as they vie to impress Captain Rude, the most dastardly pirate captain in the known world. It seems that the Captain was not pleased with the last Crew and threw them overboard just before the ship made port. So, a new crew is being pressed into service and you are it! But first, your mettle must be tested. Can you and your shipmates prove yourselves to be seaworthy sailors by singing sea shanties, making piratical toasts and, best of all, eating unencumbered by utensils for this feaste of feastes? If so, paddle your dinghies on down to the Swashbuckler Brew Pub for the Pyrate Feast! Enjoy platters piled high with mouthwatering Drunken Chicken with Scurvy Seafood Skewers, Commodore’s Traditional Gumbo and other pyratical cuisine, all unencumbered by the use of utensils just as in days of yore. Pitchers of Swashbuckler ales ranging from dark and bold to light and golden and award-winning wines straight from the cellars of Mount Hope Winery quench the driest of palates, and a delectable dessert of key-lime tartlets brings the feast to a close.
Seating for the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste is at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturdays. Seating is limited and reservations can be made by calling the Box Office at 717.665.7021, ext. 231 or by visiting the Virtual Box Office at www.PaRenFaire.com. Admission is $49.95 and includes a souvenir mug and two drink tokens. The show is appropriate for patrons 18 and older. Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Period costumes are encouraged but not required. Mount Hope Estate & Winery, home of the Swashbuckler Brew Pub and Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, is located on Route 72, 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, ½ mile south of PA Turnpike Exit 266, 15 miles north of Lancaster and 14 miles east of Hershey. # # # |
