Join the Spirits for an eventful
evening at the Mount Hope Mansion
Get into the Victorian “spirit” with an evening of fine dining, spiritual mysticism and theatrical entertainment at Mount Hope Estate & Winery’s “Wine, Dine and Séance” event Fridays and Saturdays beginning February 8 and continuing through February 23 with a special Valentine’s Day performance Thursday, February 14.
Miss Daisy Grubb, the 5th generation Mount Hope matriarch, has an unwanted guest in her Mansion, the restless spirit of her late Uncle. Wanting nothing more than to release him from his tortured state, Miss Daisy is hosting a séance in the hopes of doing just that. However, is the silver-tongued medium she’s hired truly in touch with the spirits, or is he merely another charlatan, posing as a spiritual guide in hopes of winning Miss Daisy’s trust and possibly her dowry? Is it possible that the quirky Paranormal Scientist, and long-time admirer of Miss Daisy’s, is actually the right man for the job and Miss Daisy? Everyone is invited to suspend reality for an evening that may free one spirit while stirring your own.
This close encounter of a very different sort features tableside interaction and fortunetelling during an elegant, four-course gourmet dinner complete with a delectable butternut squash apple soup and mouthwatering short rib and crab cake Surf n’ Turf before concluding with the sweet and savory Chocolate Mousse parfaits laced with Drunken Raspberries. Mount Hope Wines and Swashbuckler Brew Pub Beers accentuate the meal.
Seating for “Wine, Dine and Séance” is at 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 7 p.m. on Fridays and Valentine's Day. Only 80 participants will be admitted to this intimate mystical gathering. Admission is $59.95 per person. Reservations can be made by calling the Box Office at 717.665.7021, ext. 231, or by visiting the Virtual Box Office at www.PaRenFaire.com. Period costumes encouraged but not required.
Mount Hope Estate, home to the annual Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, is located on Route 72, ½ mile south of PA Turnpike exit 266, 15 miles north of Lancaster and 14 miles east of Hershey.
